BAY SHORE, N.Y. — A young Suffolk County promoter is preparing for an upcoming party in Bay Shore that he says is part of a larger effort to give teenagers a positive place to socialize and have fun.
LiPartyPromotions, founded and promoted by Saamir Alfred, is advertising its “Pink Out” event for Saturday, September 19, in Bay Shore.
The themed event encourages attendees to wear pink and is being promoted around “good energy” and “great vibes.”
But Saamir says there is a larger purpose behind the parties he organizes.
“I think it’s important for teens to have an outlet because it gives them something positive to do, keeps them out of trouble, and gives them a safe place to have fun and build a sense of community,” Saamir told Suffolk News Now.
The promotional material for Pink Out puts security prominently into the event’s messaging, advertising “Tight Security — No Exceptions.”
The flyer also says food and drinks will be provided and available during the event.
Admission is advertised at $5 for girls during the first hour and $10 afterward, while boys are $10 during the first hour and $15 afterward.
The flyer identifies Bay Shore as the location but does not publicly provide a specific venue address.
For Saamir, organizing Pink Out and other events isn’t simply about promoting another party.
He said he decided to become a promoter because he wanted to take an active role in creating something for young people and the broader community.
“I decided to do it because I wanted to create a positive space where people can come together, have fun, and enjoy themselves,” Saamir said. “I feel like having something like this brings people closer and gives the community something positive to be a part of.”
That mission could resonate with families who understand one of the challenges facing teenagers: finding appropriate places to gather and socialize outside of school, sports and other structured activities.
At the same time, events aimed at young people naturally bring questions from parents about supervision and security.
LiPartyPromotions is addressing at least part of that concern directly in its advertising by making security a prominent part of the Pink Out promotion.

For the young Suffolk County promoter, Pink Out represents another opportunity to build the kind of environment he says motivated him to start LiPartyPromotions in the first place.
His goal is simple: give teenagers something positive to do, bring people together and create a community around having fun.
And on September 19, he’ll try to put that idea into action in Bay Shore.
