SOUTHAMPTON, N.Y. — Southampton High School’s Mariners Patriot Club is inviting local veterans and their families to a special Veterans Appreciation Dinner on Wednesday, October 28, celebrating military service, community gratitude and America’s 250th anniversary.
The annual event will take place from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the Southampton High School cafeteria at 141 Narrow Lane in Southampton.
Organized by the Mariners Patriot Club under the direction of adviser Thea Dombrowski-Fry, the gathering will recognize the men and women who have served in the United States Armed Forces.
This year’s celebration carries additional significance as the country commemorates the 250th anniversary of American independence, marking the years 1776 through 2026.
An Evening of Recognition and Gratitude
The event will feature a veterans recognition ceremony, dinner and fellowship, bringing together students, veterans, their families and members of the Southampton community.
According to the event announcement, the evening will also include an America 250 commemorative coin for veterans.
The dinner is part of an established tradition of community service led by the Mariners Patriot Club.
At the club’s 2025 Veterans Appreciation Dinner, more than 350 local veterans and family members were honored. The program included student musical performances, community volunteers and representatives from local government and law enforcement.
The annual gathering offers students an opportunity to personally thank veterans while learning about the sacrifices associated with military service.
Community Support Requested
Organizers are also reaching out to local residents and businesses for food donations to help support this year’s dinner.
The initiative reflects the community-driven nature of the event, which relies on students, school personnel and supporters working together to recognize veterans.
Veterans and their families are welcome to attend.
