  • Do Women Love Cars as Much as Men?

By Belinda Trotter-James | Blown Woofer Magazine

When it comes to cars, the age-old question is: Do women love cars as much as men? The answer is absolutely! Women have been making their mark in the automotive world, proving that horsepower, luxury, speed, and style are not just a man’s game.

For some women, a car is more than a way to get from point A to point B. It’s a statement of personality, success, independence, and style. Whether it’s a sleek BMW, a head-turning Mercedes-Benz, a powerful muscle car, or a customized Jeep, women appreciate a vehicle that makes them feel good behind the wheel.

Let’s not forget the women who enjoy attending car shows, collecting classic automobiles, customizing their rides, or simply keeping their vehicles spotless with a professional detailing job. And yes, some women know their engines, understand horsepower, and can talk rims, racing, and performance right alongside the guys!

The automotive industry is also recognizing women as important consumers, enthusiasts, collectors, and professionals. From female race car drivers to automotive entrepreneurs, women continue to break barriers and redefine what it means to be a car lover.

So, do women love cars as much as men? Perhaps the better question is: Does it really matter? Passion for automobiles has no gender.

At Blown Woofer Magazine, we’re celebrating everyone who loves the ride, appreciates the style, and feels the excitement when that engine roars. Because when it comes to cars, the love is universal!

With its uplifting theme, “Love Wins Every Time” encourages listeners to look beyond life’s struggles and remember the power of love to bring people together.

Moore’s latest release adds another chapter to an extraordinary career spanning music, television, and Broadway. Her celebrated musical journey also includes the Grammy-winning hit “Lean on Me” and the timeless favorite “This Is It.”

Beyond her musical achievements, Moore continues to demonstrate that true talent has no expiration date. Her ability to evolve while remaining connected to her audience is a testament to her lasting influence on entertainment.

With “Love Wins Every Time,” Melba Moore delivers more than a new single—she offers a message of encouragement, reminding us that even in difficult times, love can still be our greatest victory.

During our conversation, we also talked about her book, This Is It… Marvelous and Getting Better. Melba shared how her spiritual journey inspired her to release the book and why she felt it was the perfect time to share her message with the world. She promised me that life really does get better, and her words carried a warmth and reassurance that stayed with me.

As we chatted and giggled like old friends, I found myself feeling as though I were catching up with someone I had known for years. There was a genuine warmth about her that made the conversation feel personal and comfortable. And can we talk about how marvelous she looks? Hats off to her style team for keeping her looking fabulous! I believe Melba said it best with the title of her book. She truly is marvelous—and from where I stand, she is getting better and better!

Wear It. Believe It. Become It: Self Talk Affirmation T-Shirts Promote Self-Love and Positive Thinking

In a world where we are constantly reminded of what we should look like, how we should act, and what we should achieve, it is easy to forget the importance of being kind to ourselves. That is the inspiration behind Self Talk Affirmation T-Shirts, a unique clothing line designed to encourage self-love, positive thinking, and a healthier relationship with yourself.

These are not your ordinary T-shirts. Each shirt features an affirmation written backward on purpose, allowing the message to be read correctly when you look at yourself in the mirror. It is a creative reminder that sometimes the most important words you need to hear are the ones you say to yourself.

Mental health matters, and the way we speak to ourselves can influence how we feel, how we face challenges, and how we see our own worth. While a T-shirt cannot replace professional mental health support, a daily reminder to practice self-love can be a meaningful step toward building a more positive mindset.

Everyone needs to be their own cheerleader! Whether you are a student facing peer pressure, an adult navigating everyday stress, or someone working toward a personal goal, encouraging yourself matters. Instead of focusing on negative thoughts, imagine starting your day by looking in the mirror and reminding yourself that you are loved, capable, worthy, and enough.

Self Talk Affirmation T-Shirts are available in different colors and feature uplifting designs for people who want to wear their message proudly. They also make thoughtful gifts for birthdays, holidays, graduations, back-to-school celebrations, or simply to remind someone special that they matter.

Give yourself—or someone you love—a gift that goes beyond fashion. Put on your affirmation, look in the mirror, and start each day with a little more confidence, kindness, and a wink and a smile.

  • BEAT STREET IS BACK: NAS BRINGS A HIP-HOP CLASSIC TO BROADWAY

BEAT STREET IS BACK: NAS BRINGS A HIP-HOP CLASSIC TO BROADWAY

Nas takes Beat Street to Broadway!

By Belinda James | Blown Woofer Magazine

From the streets of 1984 to the Broadway stage, “Beat Street” is getting a new beat for a new generation.

Some movies become classics. Others become part of the culture.  The 1984 hip-hop film “Beat Street” is one of those movies.

Now, more than four decades after the original film introduced audiences to the energy, creativity and culture of hip-hop, Nas is bringing “Beat Street” to Broadway—and he isn’t simply putting the old movie onstage. That means audiences won’t simply be watching a recreation of the 1984 film. They will experience a reimagined Beat Street designed to connect the story and spirit of hip-hop with a whole new generation.

For anyone who remembers the original Beat Street, the film was more than entertainment. It captured an important moment in hip-hop culture, bringing together music, dance, graffiti and the creative energy of the streets.  Now, Nas is helping take that legacy somewhere it has never been before: Broadway.  And perhaps one of the most important elements of the new production is the music.

Nas is creating new material specifically for the stage, while also expanding the original film’s soundtrack. That gives him an opportunity to help shape how this classic story will sound and feel for today’s audience.  It’s a powerful connection between hip-hop history and hip-hop’s future.  The goal isn’t simply to look backward.  It’s about taking what made “Beat Street” special and moving it forward.

The creative team behind the stage production brings some serious history to the project.  Producers include Richard Earn, Arthur Baker, Michael Holman and Peter Bittenbender. Two members of that team, Arthur Baker and Peter Holman, are returning from the original 1984 film, bringing firsthand knowledge and history from the production that started it all.  That connection between the original Beat Street and the new Broadway production makes this more than a remake. It’s a continuation of a cultural story.  ShowTown Theatricals is handling general management duties as the project moves forward.

    WHY THIS MATTERS TO HIP-HOP…

There is something significant about seeing a story rooted in early hip-hop culture move onto one of the world’s most prestigious theatrical stages.  Hip-hop has always been about creating something from what you have.  A turntable became an instrument. A microphone became a voice.  A wall became a canvas.  A street corner became a stage.  And now, Broadway becomes another stage for hip-hop storytelling.

For younger audiences who weren’t around when Beat Street first hit theaters, this production could provide an introduction to a foundational era of the culture. For those who remember the original, it offers the opportunity to see a familiar story through a completely new lens.

What is particularly interesting about this project is that it doesn’t appear to be treating Beat Street like a museum piece. It’s taking the foundation of the original film and asking a very important question:  What can “Beat Street” say to today’s generation?

That’s where the new music, the Broadway format and the expanded creative vision become important.  The original film documented a moment.  The new stage production has the opportunity to create another moment in hip-hop history.  From the streets of New York in 1984 to the lights of Broadway decades later, Beat Street is proving that great hip-hop stories don’t have an expiration date. They evolve.  They grow.  And sometimes… they get a whole new beat.

“Beat Street” is more than nostalgia. It’s a bridge between hip-hop’s past, present and future—and Broadway may be the next place where that bridge leads.

  • BREAST CANCER AWARENESS PINK CARS

    BREAST CANCER AWARENESS PINK CARS

It’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and I’ve noticed police departments around the country changing the color of their police vehicles to pink to help bring awareness to breast cancer.

When I first saw the pink police cars, I thought, “Wait a minute… is there going to be a fight with Mary Kay and her famous Pink Cadillac Brigade?” 😂 But then I realized these pink police cars are specifically for the month of October, which is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

I think it’s a great idea! What better way to get people’s attention than seeing a bright pink police car driving down the street? It starts conversations and reminds people about the importance of getting regular mammograms and detecting breast cancer in its early stages.

It’s also a creative way to bring attention to the need for breast cancer research and funding.

And I have to say—the cars are beautifully designed! I’m sure before long, we’ll see some friendly competition among police departments for the best Breast Cancer Awareness pink police car.

  • Pioneering Editor Belinda James Relaunches Blown Woofer Magazine With AUXIO.TV

Pioneering Editor Belinda James Relaunches Blown Woofer Magazine With AUXIO.TV

AUXIO NEWS NOW — Pioneering editor, author and media entrepreneur Belinda James is relaunching and rebranding Blown Woofer Magazine in collaboration with AUXIO.TV, bringing the publication back as a premium media brand focused on the intersection of car audio, custom vehicles and music culture.

James brings more than three decades of experience in urban entertainment publishing. Through her work with Media Queen Publishing, she has been associated with titles including Word Up!, Rap Masters, 2 Hype, Hype Hair and other entertainment and lifestyle publications, building a career around artists, executives, entertainers and emerging cultural trends.

For James, the new venture is about taking that publishing experience and adapting it for a new generation of readers.

“Blown Woofer has always been about culture, sound and personality,” James said. “This relaunch gives us the opportunity to bring that same energy into a format that works for audiences today.”

The new Blown Woofer Magazine will combine digital publishing with a quarterly four-page premium print edition distributed in select markets.

The print edition is being designed as a highly visual, curated publication rather than a traditional long-form magazine, giving readers a compact mix of automotive culture, music, personalities and premium advertising.

“I still believe print has value when it feels special,” James said. “The goal is not to print just for the sake of printing. We want each edition to feel collectible, visual and worth picking up.”

Working with AUXIO.TV, the relaunch will extend well beyond print.

Blown Woofer will be supported by digital articles, social media, video content and targeted advertising, allowing stories and advertisers appearing in the publication to reach audiences beyond the physical copies.

The editorial direction will center on four core areas:

Car Audio — sound systems, equipment, installations and the technology behind high-performance audio.

Custom Builds — standout vehicles and the builders, installers and owners creating them.

Music Culture — artists, releases and the music driving automotive culture.

Celebrity Rides — vehicles, customization and automotive tastes connected to entertainers and other recognizable personalities.

The concept reflects the longstanding relationship between music and automobiles, particularly within hip-hop and urban culture, where the car has often served as both a personal statement and a listening room on wheels.

James said the partnership with AUXIO.TV allows the magazine to build on that culture while expanding how the content reaches people.

“AUXIO gives us the ability to take a story beyond the page,” she said. “Someone may discover Blown Woofer in print, online, through video or through social media. That gives the publication a much bigger life than a traditional magazine ever had.”

Instead of choosing between print and digital, Blown Woofer is being built to use both — a premium quarterly print product in targeted markets backed by continuous digital coverage through AUXIO.TV.

For James, that combination is central to the magazine’s next chapter.

“The mission is simple: celebrate the people, the cars, the sound and the music that make this culture what it is,” she said. “We want Blown Woofer to become a place where all of those worlds connect.”
