    Mic Mountain Serves Up Latin Hip-Hop Concept Album Recetas

    WASHINGTON, D.C. — Mic Mountain is turning recipes into records with Recetas, a 13-track Latin hip-hop concept album that uses food, family and cultural references as the framework for an underground rap project packed with collaborations.

    Running approximately 38 minutes, Recetas takes its concept seriously from the opening track through the finale. The album’s titles read almost like a menu, moving through dishes and drinks including “Pastelitos,” “Dulce De Leche,” “Café Con Leche,” “Mofongo,” “Sancocho,” “Pollo Frito,” “Bacalaitos,” “Sangría” and “Arroz Con Pollo.”

    Rather than treating the food theme as a novelty, Mic Mountain uses it as connective tissue for a project rooted in Latin identity and traditional hip-hop collaboration.

    The album opens with “Recetas (Intro)” before moving into “Pastelitos,” featuring Krook Rock and Jay David. La Bori Dee joins Mic Mountain on “Dulce De Leche,” while “Café Con Leche” brings in Duendy and The Microphone Prince.

    The guest list continues throughout the project.

    DJ Exes appears on “Pineapple Pique,” Powerule joins “Pollo Frito,” and underground hip-hop veteran Thirstin Howl the 3rd appears on “Bacalaitos.” Other contributors include Cynical Minded, Sacx One and Paco Loco, who appears on both the “Hill Billy” skit and closing track “Arroz Con Pollo.”

    That collaborative approach gives Recetas the feel of a curated table rather than a solo showcase. Mic Mountain remains at the center, but the rotating voices allow each record to carry its own personality while staying connected to the broader concept.

    Even the cover artwork reinforces the idea: Mic Mountain seated in front of a spread of dishes with a massive mountain backdrop, visually combining his artist identity with the album’s culinary theme.

    For listeners drawn to independent hip-hop that still values full-album concepts, sequencing and features, Recetas offers something increasingly uncommon — a project designed to be experienced as a complete body of work rather than simply a collection of singles.

    For AUXIO Music, Recetas stands out because Mic Mountain isn’t simply naming songs after food. He has built an entire project around the idea of culture being passed down, mixed together and served through hip-hop.

    KMD and Nay Blanco Set for Song-for-Song Competition at Harlem Nights

    HARLEM, NY — Two artists will put their catalogs to the test in a song-for-song competition when KMD faces Nay Blanco at Harlem Nights on October 2.

    Presented by MilitaryGrindConcerts and BossChick Media, the event is being promoted as a direct musical matchup, with each artist going record for record in front of a live audience.

    The competition is scheduled to run from 8 p.m. to midnight at Harlem Nights, 2361 Adam Clayton Powell Jr., according to the event flyer.

    BossChick Raine will host the evening, while DJ Ivory will handle the music.

    The format puts the focus squarely on the records. Rather than a traditional performance lineup, KMD and Nay Blanco are expected to alternate songs, giving each artist an opportunity to answer the other with selections from their respective catalogs.

    A promotional post from host Terrell Blair describes the event as a “Song 4 Song” matchup featuring “some of their dopest songs from their catalog,” positioning the night as part competition and part showcase.

    The event continues MilitaryGrindConcerts’ emphasis on artist-centered live programming, while BossChick Media adds a competitive showcase format designed to put the music itself at the center of the room.

    For independent artists, song-for-song events can offer a different kind of exposure than a standard set. The format gives the audience an immediate side-by-side look at songwriting, delivery, production and catalog depth while creating a more interactive live atmosphere.

    Carmen Bryan Files Federal Civil Lawsuit Against N.O.R.E. Over Alleged 1999 Sexual Assault

    Carmen Bryan has filed a federal civil lawsuit against rapper and Drink Champs co-host N.O.R.E., alleging he sexually assaulted her during an encounter in New York more than two decades ago.

    Carmen Bryan has taken legal action against rapper and podcast host N.O.R.E., whose legal name is Victor James Santiago Jr.

    A federal court docket shows Bryan filed a civil complaint on September 9, 2026, in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York. The case is listed as Bryan v. Santiago et al., Case No. 1:26-cv-07765. Santiago and unnamed corporate entities identified as Doe Corporations 1–10 are listed as defendants. 

    The case is categorized on the federal docket as a personal-injury action brought under diversity jurisdiction. Bryan has requested a jury trial. 

    According to Bryan’s complaint, she alleges Santiago sexually assaulted her during an encounter at a New York nightclub in 1999.

    Bryan alleges the encounter involved nonconsensual sexual contact and that she told Santiago to stop. She further alleges other people eventually intervened.

    Those statements are allegations made by Bryan in a civil lawsuit. They have not been proven in court, and the filing of a complaint is not a finding of liability or wrongdoing.

    Bryan is known publicly for her past relationship with Nas, with whom she shares a daughter. Santiago rose to prominence in New York hip-hop as one half of Capone-N-Noreaga before establishing a successful second chapter in media as co-host of the Drink Champs podcast.

    The newly filed lawsuit places two figures with longstanding connections to New York hip-hop culture at the center of a civil legal dispute stemming from allegations dating back more than 25 years.

    At this stage, the federal docket confirms the lawsuit has been filed but does not indicate that a court has made any factual determination concerning Bryan’s allegations. The complaint represents Bryan’s account and begins the civil litigation process, during which Santiago will have the opportunity to respond to the claims.

    No criminal conviction or finding of civil liability is reflected in the federal docket associated with this filing.
